If you don’t use your printer for several weeks or months, this can cause ink to dry out and clog the nozzles. Inferior inks can cause clogging issues as well. Of course printer manufacturers will always tell you to use the right brand and formulation of ink, but it’s not all just marketing cheap ink can cause all kinds of headaches with your printer, and might end up costing you more in the long run.

Today’s high-resolution inkjet printers have extremely fine ink nozzles; the inks are specially designed to flow through them without clogging, and to dry quickly on the paper without drying on the print head or in the nozzle.
The same cleaning cycle you used for the print head can be used for the nozzles. Also, check to see if your model of printer houses the nozzles on the ink cartridges or on the printer.
If they are on the cartridge, and the cartridge is mostly empty, you can just replace it. The new nozzles will obviously be unclogged. Some people have had success using a dropper or syringe to apply alcohol, or filling an old, cleaned out ink cartridge with alcohol and running a cleaning cycle. These generally aren’t “official” cleaning procedures, so proceed with caution: They could damage your printer or void your warranty. The best way to keep your printer running smoothly is to avoid having low quality ink and use suitable flush for this ink. In Edge Colors we provide Ink Flush with high compatibility for every ink family to clean and save your printer.

“Banding issue” Why? , and How to fix?

Banding issue was the most common noted fault by machine operators, in the same time can be one of the easiest to sort out, first of all let’s talk about what banding is?

Banding is a defect in inkjet printing that will appear as horizontal or vertical lines, streaks or bands in the printed output. Everyone will eventually experience some type of banding with their inkjet printer.

Why?

The print head jetting a regular pattern of ink droplets that will dry before the next set of droplets arrive. This can go wrong if:
● The heaters are not set correctly.
● The deflected position of the print heads can same problem, (wrong print pattern).
● The calibration for feeding the material is wrong; you will see overlapping printed lines.
● The calibration of the print head settings is wrong.
● The ink is not drying correctly.
● The old and dirty media.
● The ink quality noted that sometimes affect the overlapping prints making dark or light banding.
One or more of those reasons can lead to banding issue.

Now! , How to fix banding issue?

1. Adjust your printer heaters according to media used, in most cases 45° is perfect to make printing dry and keep media in a good condition.
2. You may need to re adjust the print heads position in the carriage.
3. Try to re calibrate the Y motor step size.
4. Adjusting the voltage and calibration of the print head is a good option too.
5. Set the printer middle heater at 45° and try again.
6. In most cases changing media fixing the problem.
7. Change the ink to more quality and trusted ink.

The coding and marking segment – otherwise known as ‘product identification’ – refers to the practice of putting dates, barcodes, logos, and other images onto products such as food containers (‘primary Packaging’) and the cardboard boxes and cartons that they are packed in (‘secondary packaging’).

Coding for primary package

Primary package marking (such as the date code on a milk bottle) is typically done with CIJ printers (continues inkjet).

Coding for secondary package

Printing on cartons was done with mechanically operated ‘valvejet’ DoD inkjet printers, but is now Increasingly a piezoelectric inkjet application because of its superior speed and resolution.
Low-cost thermal inkjet (TIJ) printers are also gaining acceptance in the coding and marking market. Printers are small and portable, and often networked to the factory’s production system so that the barcodes and other data they print can be changed remotely.

Substrates

Inkjet printers can also print on various substrates from porous to non-porous. Typically, these printheads print oil-based ink onto cardboard or paper and solvent-based or UV-curable ink onto plastic packaging.
